Update on Dyshidrosis and hives
Thought I would update on how my eczema and hives are.
As I stated last week I broke down and have taken the antibiotics . So the infection seems to be clearing . Several. Of my fingers still appear red I think due to the skin dying and peeling . It is raw. Burns at times and is sti extremely itchy . I do combos of things for relief. My oils and the collodial silver gel .
I still have the hives they are slowly healing but still have moments of extreme itching. I have finally been able to go a day without the prescription antihistamine . I have also eliminated wheat again completely .
So again I still do not know why I have these hives. I go back to the dr in a couple of weeks .
As you see my hands look like a lizard. The skin is peeling. I wish it would just all come off because the skin that has not pulled away is dead. I made the mistake of trying to peel it and ouch major pain and burning. I thought it was ready . It is like a huge scab.....my palms are about to peel also.

Excessive use of electronics ??
Many of us including my self own an iPhone ,iPod or iPad . I have an iPhone only. Yes my children love it and it can be a great resource for learning . Or does it? It depends on how often your child uses it. Does the child get out and dig in the dirt? Is it a baby sitter?
I read on Facebook a lot and there are funny cards with sayings to get points across with out actually posting a 'status'
Here is one I love:

I have also seen variations of the above that states the same then at the end "Tell me more about how awful your life is"
My teens are on facebook and tell me all the time how all their friends have all of the above . My girls do now have an iphone, we got a family plan and the 3g is only .99 cents. They pay me monthly for their own usage.
Yes my girls get jealous and we talk about glutony is a sin as well as envy. I mean I can not blame them it would be nice to have an ipad or two for homeschooling. Downloading books especially classics are free and it takes up less space. Then there are the moms that give there children everything they want. I mean reading on facebook about a mom whose 3 year has his own ipad its a little much. What are we teaching our children? And then there are the teen friends of one of my girls that complain and disrespect their mom on FB because they dont have an iphone or an ipad....We wonder why we have issues with our teens? Moms and dads need to wake up.

Scripture readings today....profound with the times
James 2:14–18
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
Indeed someone might say, “You have faith and I have works.” Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.
Mark 8:27–35
Jesus and his disciples set out for the villages of Caesarea Philippi. Along the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” They said in reply, “John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said to him in reply, “You are the Christ.” Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him.
He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days. He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.”
He summoned the crowd with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and that of the gospel will save it.”

Update on Dyshidrosis , now hives
I woke up yesterday feeling like I had fire ants all over my body. My hand was swollen and I felt terrible. A friend of mine told me about another dermatologist in our town. So by the Grace of God I actually got an appt.
The nurses at the new dermatologist confirmed that the other dermatologist I saw was horrible. MANY of their patients left him to come to them confirming this. They said my finger was indeed infected, after the other dr said it was not.
While I do not like much conventional medicine I know it has its place at times. I was given a prescription for a strong antibiotic, antihistamine and some cortizone ointment. I can not use the ointment, it made it worse. They also convinced me to let them give me a intra muscular injection (I think a steroid) that would get rid of the swelling and relief quickly. I pray it doesnt make me worse. I go back in two weeks and if hives are still there he will biopsy it. So we still do not know why I have all this .
I honestly feel no different and actually have more hives all over my body. I am prone to thrush/yeast so I hate taking antibiotics. I am taking probiotics two hours after the Bactrum.

I also went to the local health store yesterday afternoon. The nice lady there took one look at my finger and said the skin tissue was dying and my body was reacting to this with hives...She told me to try the Sovereign Silver first aid gel and some aloe vera (to drink) . I have notice best relief with the silver gel. Amazing stuff and it feels good. I am also taking nat mur and rhus tox mixed in a water bottle. Hoping it will get the hives gone. Since so far the lortadine and the prescription antihistamine is not.
Please keep praying for me. This is so miserable. It even hurts to nurse because holding sebastian on my skin makes it burn more...
These are a few photos of how my hand appears today, notice my finger that skin feels like a scab, and I cannot feel anything on my finger tip area, that worries me. AS I fear the nerves maybe damaged. I still am not sure how to handle the issue with the other dermatologist I saw. HE should not be practicing medicine.

Nursing a Sexually Wounded Culture , by Christopher West
In conversations I've had with Catholics about the issue, I've received varying responses as well. Most Catholics, having a deep sense of the sacredness of a mother's love, would not respond by concluding that breast-feeding is "gross" or "pornographic" (thank God!). Still, others get more than a bit uncomfortable with the idea of breast-feeding in public. I'm not advocating that nursing mother's should indiscreetly expose themselves in public places. But I do think it could be a good exercise to ask why something as innocent as breast-feeding can cause such discomfort in us. Why should women be made to feel as if they were doing something shameful – even criminal – when they feed their babies at the breast? This is not the case in other parts of the world. I remember attending the Second World Meeting of John Paul II with Families in Brazil in 1997. Nursing mothers were a common sight at this international gathering. What I found intriguing, however, was that women from "first-world" nations tended to drape themselves and sit off in a corner, while women from other nations seemed to have no qualms whatsoever about feeding their babies in full view of others. I remember one woman unabashedly roaming the crowd passing all manner of bishops and cardinals with her breast fully exposed while her child held on to it with both hands happily feeding. The only people flinching seemed to be those from the northern hemisphere. Isn't it interesting that the part of the world producing the most pornography and exporting it to the rest of the globe has seemed to lose all sense of the true meaning of the human breast? What a commentary on the sad state of our sexually wounded culture! Breasts have been so "pornified" that we can fall into thinking that even their proper use is shameful. In other words, we have been so conditioned to see a woman's body through the prism of lust that we find it very difficult to recognize the purity and innocence of breast-feeding. St. Paul hit the nail on the head when he said, "To the pure all things are pure, but to the impure nothing is pure" (Ti 1:15). It is a tragically impure world that labels the purity of a baby at the breast as "gross." For those with the purity to see it, a nursing mother is one of the most precious, most beautiful, and most holy of all possible images of woman. It is an image that should inspire – and throughout Christian history has inspired – the most lofty of sentiments. In fact, it is a heavenly image. Isaiah 66 describes heaven as that place where we will all drink from the abundant breast of the new Jerusalem and find comfort in her overflowing milk. John Paul II observed in his theology of the body that the "whole exterior constitution of woman's body, its particular look [is] in strict union with motherhood." Since the body reveals the person, John Paul believes that this speaks volumes, not only about feminine biology, but about the dignity and nature of woman as a person. This is why he takes special care to note that "the Bible (and the liturgy following it) honors and praises throughout the centuries 'the womb that bore you and the breasts from which you sucked milk' (Lk 11:27). These words," he continues, "are a eulogy of motherhood, of femininity, of the feminine body in its typical expression of creative love" (TOB 21:5). Sweet Jesus, please free us from the pornographic lies that distort the true meaning of our bodies! And Mary, Mother of God, pray for us that we would see in every nursing mother an image of you feeding the Christ child. | | |

Dyshidrosis , AKA ouch
The past few weeks I have been dealing with a rash that turned into eczema . I have been using all my natural remedies and nothing was getting rid of it.
I finally saw a local dermatologist last Friday .He was honestly a jerk. He took a look left and handed me a computer print out of what he thought it was, Dyshidrosis.
Like all medical Drs he gave me samples of a cortizone cream and a script for prednisone, Which I didnt use. I tried the cream friday and it made it worse.
I have used my stand by Florazone homeopathic cream, I have soaked in epson salt, lavender eo and several other remedies. My young living thieves seems to be helping a touch with itching, I keep it wrapped in gauze during the day. It is so painful and gross.
My research is saying no cure, no real known cause, however it says stress or allergies may be the trigger. Guess it is time for a major detox. However I already eat very healthy, when I do eat. I am also pre menopausal and have been using bio identical hormones to help the past couple of months (a totally different post to come) My blood work reveals I am actually POST menopausal....But I am still nursing so who knows. I was told that when we go thru this our bodies react. So I may have also developed a food allergy, all I think it could be is wheat, which I RARELY have...sigh...
The past two days I have also developed small welts all over my body. Similar to the uticaria I had when I was pregnant with Sebastian.
I TRY to offer all this up. Please pray for me and healing. It makes everyday life with kids so hard.
Below are stages of photos of how it looks.

My non dairy version of Nutella
I have been searching and trying recipes for a non dairy 'nutella' . After a failed version I finally made up one that's yummy and smooth .
1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (I use non dairy )
2/3 Cup Plain Non-Dairy Milk(I used coconut milk and coconut milk creamer)
1 Cup Toasted Hazelnuts
1 Cup Raw Cashew Pieces
3 Tablespoons coconut sugar and a little agave
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 Teaspoon Salt
Simply heat the non-dairy milk without bringing it to a boil, and pour it over the chocolate chips, I used a bain Marie Let it sit for a few minutes to melt, and then stir thoroughly to combine.
Meanwhile, in the Vitamix, throw in all of the nuts run on high a minute then add sugar, vanilla, and salt. Let it run for about two minutes on high, using the tamper to continue pushing the nuts into the blade. Once smooth, pour in the chocolate mixture, and let it continue to run until combined. Done! (Just note that does become thicker once chilled.)
